My WHY for becoming a BEACHBODY COACH

Its real.. It's 100% on the spot emotion.

Upper & Lower Body workout in one move

Starts with the decision to TRY

I'm an over thinker, a busy body and procrastinator.. but yet again when I want something and get something set in my head I've got to have it and I've got to do what I got to do to get it. No matter what you want to accomplish it starts with the decision to try and if you fail it's just the chance to start again only better next time. Eventually you'll get what you want with hard work, determination and consistency. I've got a lot on my plate I want to accomplish. What are you trying to accomplish?

Food is Fuel

Food is Fuel
Scales don't measure health
Exercise for health not punishment
You are capable of self love!

God changes plans for the better

Finally we have pictures. So excited to get them up in frames in our home so our home looks like our home if you know what i mean! :) So thankful to have such a hardworking loving man by my side every day!

Its crazy to think that at this point we are newly weds, been married 5 months August 21 and we should really be drowning in final touches before what should have been our wedding date of Sept 26th.

Amazing how God changes plans and they worked out better than what you originally had planned for yourself in the beginning. :)

But First... COFFEE! :)

Busy Day Saturday with a wedding. Multiple hair updo's in Des Moines but first coffee while I grabbed my tote with all my hair stuff!

I had my Shakeology early that morning to keep me full until lunch and It worked. My stomach didn't start getting hungry til a little after 1pm. Once of my favorite reasons for my daily shake. Keeping me full!!

Wedding was a success and I can't wait to share updo pictures!!

Strawberry Avocado Salad

Strawberry Avocado Salad
Working late and no quick supper ideas throwing this salad together turned out pretty good!!

-Spring mix organic lettuce
-tomato
-strawberries
-avocado
-dash of lemon juice & a little natural olive oil for dressing

Serving people one by one with value

Serving people with value is what I do. My salon business is nothing but giving the best service I can and adding value to their life. Same goes with my coaching business. Adding value to people because I share my own journey. Sometimes I feel that everyone is judging, thinking the skinny girl can stop posting all her happy, workout selfie pics because its annoying and no one likes to workout that much. You would be right. I don't like to workout... I love the after affect of what my workout gives to me. Happiness, less stress, more energy, healthy body, and results from my hard work. Then I got a personal fb message from someone who I really didn't know that well. When I was feeling like I should stop posting so much about fitness and health I then read what she had told me.

"Because of your journey posts, if I have put off working out all day and I see your post it gives me that extra drive to push play, so thank you and keep posting, some of us see you as an inspiration."

I've never really heard that before! I motivated her with my journey to continue and push play on her own journey! That can make a girl feel loved right there. I started Chalene extreme last night for my workout because I finally pulled the trigger and bought select tec weights!!! I haven't done this program in forever because of my lack of weight size selections.. So there is no excuses here. I have every size needed to complete this program!

Forget all the haters! Haters will always hate! Think of that one person you inspire! :)

Exercise is the best DRUG!

I've been out of the swing of things the beginning of the summer and I've just recently got into it again and hardcore I may add! Haven't missed a day in 3 weeks other than my rest days. Getting back into it makes me feel so empowered, happy, less stressed, and tired than I did before when I fell off the wagon. Exercise really is the best drug out there! Get on it!! :) Why not feel good about yourself!?

Plank & Pike

Short on time and need one quick and effective workout!? Add this to your routine and I bet you will be sweatin!!
Full Body exercise: Arms, shoulders, chest, back, abs, booty and legs!

Tip:
1. don't dip hips too low
2. Keep your shoulders away from your ears.

Make your own Laundry detergent for $.04 a load

If you are a pinterest junky like me you have seen all sorts of different concoctions for making your own this and that? Save money by making your own mixtures and its better for you and the environment. I've decided to make my own laundry detergent. I made my own dishwasher tablets too but being that I have no dishwasher right now (new one hasn't been delivered yet, old one has been unhooked! Insert... I HATE DOING THE DISHES!! lol ) I haven't tried those yet. But i did however use the detergent for the first time today on my salon towels!
I must say, feels soft, smells oh so good, and lots of color stains are gone.

Here is the ingredients I tried for my first attempt at making my own laundry soap.

1 box of Super Washing Soda
1 box of Borax
1 box Pure Baking Soda
3 bars of Ivory Soap
1 container Oxy-Clean
*optional: Downy Unstoppables for scent*

Container to hold it all in. I got a cheap $1 plastic rectangle container and lid at Target.

Total came to a little over $20 (walmart prices) and this is makes 18 POUNDS of detergent! At 1 or 2 tablespoons a load thats a lot of loads- 504 loads to be exact! = $.04 a load compared to $.12 a load for your average large Tide detergent only getting 102 loads. Less gas to get detergent and way cheaper in the long run! For sure is this my future choice and it doesn't take long at all to mix up!

What to do: mix all ingredients and stir. You can melt the ivory soap and add it in or use a food processor to grate it down! Grating the soap is super simple!

Tell me what you think when you try it!

Prayer & Motivation Ladies Group!

Why is it that this world has become so focused on the negative, bad, helpless, poor me, blaming others, judgemental, politically, offended over every little thing group of people!? Click this link and it will link you to facebook page. At that point all you do is join the group! :)
Drives me nuts and I can't stand to watch the news. Nothing about it is ever positive.. just negative and controversial to get everyone riled up and panties in a wad! So despite all the stupidity and negativity that's going on I've created a new facebook group for prayer and motivation. Facebook is filled with all sorts of groups. Fitness, cooking, swap shop, teams, family, business, etc but I'm adding just one more group to the mix. I promise this will be a positive, motivational, uplifting, spiritual, Christian praying group with daily posts. Everything from sermon and motivational video, speeches, uplifting pictures, quotes, bible verses, and prayer.

How beachbody lowered my stress while planning my wedding.

You dream of your BIG DAY since you are a little girl. I get it. I'm with ya! I did too. When you think of your wedding you think of that big day, not the planning, time consumed to prep, and money spent and bumps along the way when you change venues, change your date, move the wedding up by MONTHS! Yep thats me too. Heres a little back story.
Engaged on Memorial Day 2014 my now hubby both agreed that we wanted a laid back, fall barn wedding. We wanted to get married in the church where his parents and sister married. GREAT FIRST STEPS. We did have one disagreement, the year. I was sure I could get a dress, plan the wedding, get it ALL done by fall of that year! (like less than 5 months away!) Still to this day I think I could have done it!! :) But with marriage comes compromise and I compromised. He wanted it to be done right and didn't feel it needed to be rushed. So there we set the date.. September 26, 2015. But wait... I'm already married so how did that change!??  Here's the catch. Winter of 2014 was not looking good for his grandma Peter. She was going downhill and fast. She played a huge role in his life and we knew in reality that she probably wasn't going to make it to the wedding if it was a whole 2 seasons away. So me.. just ready to be married.. and having some issues with size of the guest list fitting into our barn venue at the time anyway, and my dad not thrilled with the date being a farmer, I started thinking, what if we moved the wedding up for Grandma!? He thought I was crazy! Said there was no way, shape, or form that he was moving the wedding up that far, and icing on the cake he said," I don't want a Winter wedding!! " Ok... so now what to do. I do what I'm good at, plan it out, make it visual for him, calm him down and tell him I got this all taken care of, and that I can't walk down the isle my myself. I also talked to other family and friends to bounce around ideas, opinions and look at options. At this point I had the big stuff already planned out. It was just finding a date that all parties involved had an open date. The biggest issue was Venue. We went from having a barn/outdoor reception to January-March wedding options. In Iowa outdoor just isn't going to happen!!! I looked and looked. I found our venue. Gates Hall in Nevada. They had 2 dates that we could have. January 31st and March 21st. I ran these dates by Dave. Keep in mind its like October/November at this time frame. He finally agreed to March 21st. Good thing we didn't do January 31st because we had a mega Ice storm/blizzard that whole day and next!!  So now all of a sudden we went from getting married almost a year away to getting married in a few months! That puts a lot of stress on the budget. Here we were thinking we had all this time to slowly pay for things and then all the sudden BAM things need paid for like right now!! My salon was BUSY during the holidays, but once january comes is a slump! Everyone is just in before the holidays to get their fresh new hair cuts and colors. Thankfully I had beachbody in my life and January 1st is HUGE for Fitness, weight loss, New Years Resolutions! Being that I was helping people gain control of their health and fitness, ridding their bodies of Christmas goodies, and being their accountability partner I was able to help multiple ladies reach goals, and get that much closer to their goals. With helping people comes pay checks every week. The more people you help the more money you make. Being that I was helping quite a few I was able to pay for my photographer/pictures, my DJ, some of the decorative things, my new boots, (Yes i wore boots, no heels for this girl), bachelor/bachelorette party bus, and some of the venue, ALL with my beachbody income. Thank the Lord for that because I wasn't paying for things with a credit card. I had extra income that could go twards my wedding. Yes we did have great family. We by no means paid for all our wedding or even half that really. My parents were great, Dave's mom pitched in, Dave helped out. We are blessed with a great support system. We were getting closer and closer and we were scared if Gma Dorothy was even going to make it to the wedding in March! Unfortunately she didn't. :( She was about 40 some days short of the wedding. We moved on and had the wedding on March 21st. Ik she was still watching down on us that day, and I think it was her stubborn Dane, other parents and grandparents who were watching down on us that day who gave us such a great day!! We had PERFECT weather! Mid 60's, Sunny, slight breeze, and green grass with buds on the trees. :) Theres somethings you just know. Yep that was suppose to happen today. The nice weather gave us that validation that all the people we love were with us on that special day. Once the wedding was over it was nice to enjoy and not be stressed out about money. Didn't have to get a loan, no credit cards were involved in paying for the wedding and that in itself is a huge relief. If you or someone you know needs the extra income about what is coaching. If its right for them, and how they can make their dreams reality. I'd love to talk to you. Now I'm paying off student loan debt, working on our house salon project, and eventually saving for children so when the time comes I can have a full maternity leave! :) You were made for more. Don't keep being in debt with the same ol same ol. Do something to take action and I promise you coaching is one of the most rewarding things because you are helping so many people in online accountability support groups get control of their health and fitness, gain confidence, lose that weight they've been holding on to for so long. Its a huge reward to get that txt message, or email telling you they are so excited because they feel better than they have ever felt, lost 10+ pounds in 21 days and have control of their eating habits. Very rewarding!! If you want in on the next accountability group contact me in the HOME page and I will help you too get on track!!!

Unanswered Prayers

Today I was going throughan old tub of mine full of stuff and I found old crumpled up journal pages where I had wrote my prayers down. (If I pray in my head I get easily distracted with what else I need to do... If I write them on paper it makes me think, focus, and brain dump into prayer.) Reading them makes me go back to that time frame a few years ago of stressed, not sleeping , not hungry, heating where I was at that point in my lifepersonally and career wise. I remember thinking ugh if God would just answer this one prayer, my life would be so much better right now. It's funny how things don't work out, and its funny how in the perfect moment it does. It's been a wild few years but re reading all these prayer pages makes me thankful for Gods unanswered prayers because in the mist of all the praying, God has blessed me with bigger and better in my life than what at the time I had planned for myself.

Shave less this Summer

I don't know about you but no matter what the time of year I could shave EVERY SINGLE DAY!! Blaaaaa..... Literally I could shave in the morning and by the afternoon I have what I call "rough pricklies" and feel the need to shave again. Ugh.. Gross I know.

I'm lazy in the shaving department, so I'm up to try almost everything to simplify my morning routine. Nair... One big sales pitch that in my experience doesn't work. Being an esthi Ik I could wax.. But letting the hair get pretty long so it attaches to the wax doesn't sound appealing in the summer. No way am I getting lazer... talk about expensive and OUCH!! They say lazor feels like getting snapped in every single pore with a rubberband. NO THANK YOU I think I will just continue to shave!

DIY has become huge from every home improvement project to homemade hair, skin, and nail solutions.
Becoming more aware of what's really in all the products we use I've started slim picking certain products for the more organic, natural option.  I've tried this option last night to see if it really works and I think it does! Now let me clarify. You still have to shave! It's not some quick fix that eliminates leg hair for weeks on end.. no! But it definatly makes my legs smoother and softer for longer.
Use oil as your shaving cream.

Scrub:
1 1/4 Cup Sugar
1/2 Oil
3 tablespoons Lemon or Lime Juice
Also recommended was (20 drops) Lemon Essential Oil but I didn't have that oil on hand so I opted for the Lemon juice instead

Followed by coconut oil as my lotion because Coconut Oil has lots of moisturizing properties.

Try it out and tell me what you think.

Heal aches and pains naturally

Recently I got this big bump on the bottom of my foot, right below the pink toe. When I was in shoes, I was fine but when I was bare foot I found myself walking on the inside of that foot because of the bump and pain when stepping on it. I also admit I think it was self inflicted. Its finally summer so I've been barefoot, in flip flops and shoes that are plain and simple....NOT GOOD for my feet. Being on  my feet all day in the salon Ik..Ik.. I should be in tennis shoes all the time. But come on... cute maxi dresses/ skirts just can not be worn with tennis shoes!
So I did what I always did and asked mom exactly what she thought it was. I knew it had to deal with the muscles/tendons in my foot and leg. Not sure if it was tight or I over stretched those muscles and tendons doing something. I do know from the massage training I've had, where the issue is giving you pain usually isn't the exact cause of your problem. The problem stems from somewhere else in your body and where you feel pain is because of other reasons.
That leads me then to my doctor.. Young Living Essential Oils cabinet. My cabinet since I'm married is more like a drawer of 4 main oils I use that my mom gave me. She has tons. I need more. I just haven't had the issues to need them every day.
After work I would put
 1. Valor
 2. Lavender
3. Peppermint
 (in that order)
on my foot and up my leg. There were days that I would forget and the next day I would remember again to rub them in daily because my foot would really hurt again. Now I can say that a month later and consistent use of oils, I am completely pain free. Rubbing those three oils on the bump, around my toes, following the tendons and muscles to my heal, up and around my ankle, and up my calf muscles complete took care of my issue.
You will find out I don't like taking meds. No matter what it is I'm not going to the doctor unless I'm in mega pain. I wasn't given some pain meds that hide the pain but don't fix the issue that will flair up again a month later.

I believe 100% in the use of Young Living Essential Oils. :)

Hello sunshine

Wherever you go no matter the weather always bring your own sunshine!

Building life long friendships

Another wedding in the books!! Beautiful spring day for a clients special day! The best part about my job as a stylist is I get to build life long friendships with great people. I love getting to listen into their life as the enter and close each chapter.

2 of my Shoppe Favorites

Sharing 2 of my Shoppe favorites!!
1. The Lano Company Brush Set- Soft, non shedding bristles. Perfect for the natural girl
2. Evolution Straightener- Ceramic plates, good plate size for both short and long hair, adjustable temperature, pivot plates for curling

For every day use and weddings these brushes have been my favorite brand so far... that doesn't mean I might not try something new in the future.

From personal and client use I like how the Evolution straightener makes the hair feel soft and straightens hair quickly.

Quick Breakfast

Being a hairstylist I'm always on someone else's clock. This is a quick easy way to still get my breakfast and it be a healthy choice.
Handful of Strawberries
half a banana
2 handfuls of ice
1 cup water/or skim milk
Vanilla Shakeology

Mindset is EVERYTHING.

Can you agree with me that your mindset is the hardest thing to control!?
I started to follow very successful people and what they do everyday that makes them successful. One thing they do is gain control of their mindset by personal development every single day. So I started reading the books they were reading, and listening to the podcasts they were listening too. If tthey learned something from these books/podcast and have become as successful as they are... and are willing to share what they are doing it must work, right!? Below are some of my favorite podcasts, and books that I've listened to so far.

Favorite Personal and Business Podcasts:

I got the audio book from ITUNES

Happy to be Alive.

Last night's end to the day could have been so much more, but a headache got in the way of the final things I wanted to accomplish yesterday.
Monday's are my day off. Aren't days off suppose to be fun, lounge around, stay in pj's all day kinda days!? Unless.. its winter time and I'm in hibernation mode that day off isn't so much of a day off as it is my get EVERYTHING that I didn't get done last week, and get EVERYTHING I want done for this week done day. But, because of my headache I was in bed by 8! That NEVER happens. The blessing behind going to bed that early was being wide awake and ready to start my day by 6:30 am.

It was a chilly morning but I made my morning smoothie (recipe below) and decided I just wanted to sit out on the deck and watch the sun come up, birds chirp, and the chilly spring breeze. Sunrises make me happy. Getting to just Sit. Enjoy. Think about my upcoming day made me happy. As I get older I realize to be thankful for the little things. This was nothing much. It lasted only 15 minutes, but it got me going in the right direction for the day.

Smoothie Recipe:
1 cup Cashew Milk
1 cup ice
1 package Vanilla Shakeology
handful of large strawberries
Blend & Enjoy!

Positive-Healthy-Happy-Life.

Never Stop doing your best because someone doesn't give you credit.

Strawberry Kiwi Smoothie

Now that Spring has sprung I'm looking for new ways to make my morning breakfast smoothie using all the fresh fruit that is available. I've tweaked it a bit since the first time I've made it and now I think it's quite delicious. You would never know its 100% healthy for you!!

Recipe:
2 kiwi
5 strawberries
1 spoon full of Light&Fit Greek vanilla flavored yogurt
1 package Vanilla Shakeology
1 cup water
Lots of Ice (Keep in mind: Less ice=shake More ice=Smoothie)

Blend well! If you are a Shakeology user and you find your shakes to be "Chalky" or "Gritty" BLEND LONGER!!! Once I figured this out it's makes all the difference in the world.

Enjoy!!

5 Tips to healthy eating

Healthy eating is not about DIETING, strict rules and limitations. I'm not the greatest all the time at healthy eating, but I can tell a big difference in how I feel, my mood, and my body when I pick healthier choices. With all the Diets/Weigh loss programs that are out there I think it confuses people with what they should do to lose weight. What one "expert" says to do the next "expert" is telling you not to do it. Calorie counting, high protein, low fat, fat free, low carb, no carb, Weight Watchers, Adkins, Jenny Craig diet, the list of weight loss options goes on and on.

That is why I choose Beachbody over all these other options. Not that any of them don't work, or aren't great substitutes for people. I personally just think if you want to lose weight and keep it off, stay fit, and get healthy you need to put in the work and make it happen. Some say Beachbody is the long, hard way of doing it, and you would probably be right. No, you don't get prepackaged meals in the mail, no, you can't just eat whatever you want as long as you stay under a calorie count for your body type. Its putting the work in to workout, taking the time to meal plan, and put thought into what you're eating. But then you say, "well eating healthy is so expensive." It may possibly be depending on how many you feed in your family. But think of it this way. Is what you eat, prepackaged junk that makes you feel sluggish, moody, tired, and you are sick all the time. Food is medicine. Fuel your body with the right type of foods. So your next question, "What is healthy? What should I eat? What should I get rid of? I'm going to give you some tips to help you!

-------------------------------------------------------5 TIPS----------------------------------------------------------

  1. Set yourself up for success: Make small manageable steps. As your small changes become habit, you continue adding in more healthy choices.
  • Prepare more of your own meals: Preparing your own meals at home can help you monitor exactly what goes into your food.
  • Make the right changes: Replace unhealthy foods with healthy alternatives. Ex. switch butter for olive oil. Instead of a sugary fruit smoothly/high calorie frappe for breakfast from McDonalds, wash up fresh fruit and eat with Greek yogurt/make your own healthy smoothy/or/ have a cup of black coffee or tea.
  • Simplify: Instead of being overly concerned with counting calories, think in terms of color, variety, and freshness. Avoid packaged and processed food and shoot for more fresh ingredients.
  • Read the Labels: Be aware of extra hidden sugar and salt in packaged foods that manufacturers claim to be "healthy."
  • Focus on how you feel after eating: The more healthy meals you eat, the better you will feel after eating. The more junk food you eat, the more you will feel tired and bloated.
  • Drink plenty of water: Water flushes our system s of toxins. You may not know it but you go through life dehydrated, which causes tiredness, low energy, and headaches. Its also a common mistake thinking your hungry, when really your thirsty.
2. Moderation is Key: Only eating as much as your body needs. Balance between carbs, protein, fat, fiber, vitamins and minerals.

  • Try not to think of certain foods as "off limits": When you ban certain foods, you just crave those foods more often. Then when you fail and eat the whole bag you feel as though your whole day was shot.
  • Smaller Portions: When dining out, choose a starter instead of entree, split the dish with a friend or put half in a box to eat later. Portion size examples. Meat- size of a deck of cards. half a cup of healthy sides.
  • Take your time: Stop eating before you feel full. It takes a few minutes for your brain to tell you body that it's full, so eat slowly.

3.  Fill up on colorful fruits and vegetables: Low in calories and high in nutrients.

  • Greens: Branch out from lettuce. Kale, broccoli,  and cabbage are packed with calcium, iron, potassium, zinc, and vitamins A, C, E, and K.
  • Sweet vegetables: Corn, carrots, beets, sweet potatoes, onions, and squash add healthy sweetness to your meals and reduce your cravings for added sugars.
  • Fruit: Berries -cancer fighting, apples- fiber, oranges and mangoes- Vit C
4. Eat more healthy carbs and whole grains: Rich in antioxidants, which help to protect against heart disease, certain cancers, and diabetes.
  • Healthy Carbs: Whole grains, beans, fruits, and veggies. Digested slowly, helps you feel full longer.
  • Unhealthy carbs: White flour, refined sugar, and white rice.
  • Avoid: breads, pastas, and breakfast cereals that are not whole grain.
5. Reduce sugar and salt: Too much sugar and salt has been linked to diabetes and depression. Reducing the amount of candy and desserts you eat is only part of the solution. Sugar and salt is hidden in foods like bread, cereals, canned soups and vegetables, pasta sauce, margarine, instant mashed motatoes, frozen dinners, low-fat meals, fast food, and ketchup.
  • Slowly reduce the sugar and salt in your diet: A little at a time to give your taste buds time to adjust.
  • Be careful when eating out: Look for low sodium meals. Lots of gravy's, sauces, and dressings have extra salt and sugar so get it served to the side.
  • Eat healthier snacks: Eat naturally sweet food such as fruit, peppers, natural peanut butter to satisfy your sweet tooth.
  • Check labels: Reduced sodium and low sugar products
  • Use herbs and spices: garlic, curry powder, cayenne or black pepper to improve flavor of meals instead of salt.
  • Avoid: Sugary drinks like pop, energy drinks, and high fat/calorie coffee drinks.

New Project sneak peak

Our summer is going to consist of projects. There is one specific project that I am so excited for!

As some of you may know I'm making a small garage into my little salon and spa. Now to give you a visual, because my own first thought when I think of a barber/hairstylist having their business in their house I think, old, walking through their house, down to a basement with no windows, so a tiny space they call their salon even though it doesn't really function properly. Now eliminate that thought!

When you come to my new salon you will have up close driveway parking right next to the salon doors. You will walk right in to the salon/spa space! No stairs, not even a step, handicap accessible. You will never see my living quarters outside of the salon.  There will even be a direct access to a bathroom! This picture is the design I will be doing.

On that note. Has anyone stained/painted pallets and wood to make an accent wall like this!? Tips would be appreciated!

Where to spend your wedding budget

I still haven't quite grasped the thought of being Mrs. Peter yet. There has been a time or two when I had to rewrite a check due to signing my maiden name. Ooops..
March 21, 2015 was the best day!! Literally (almost) everything went as planned, and we couldn't have asked for better weather.  For Iowa it was a beautiful spring day! 65 degree temps, not a cloud in the sky and a slight spring breeze.
A brides dream right!!?
All that preparation and work for a day that flew by. A day I had dreamed of came and went like a blink of an eye. One of the many comments  I got was wow your wedding was beautiful, you must have spent a ton. Well... to let the cat out of the bag.. my wedding was cheaper than most! Some spend more on their wedding dress alone than I did on my entire wedding.
From my experience these areas are what I recommend spending the most on.

Spend the most on:
The DRESS because every girl needs to love their dress!
Highly recommend Pure Bridal from Ames. Owners where fabulous. Listened to what I wanted, stayed with in my budget, gave their opinion when I asked, but didn't overstep their boundaries, Great prices all around, nice environment, easy to work with.
PHOTOGRAPHY.  life's pause button to go back and relive the memories.
It's as simple as that. You want quality pictures. The only thing I wish I would have done is take all the "Pinned" pics that I liked and made an album so my photographer could have went through and made sure we got all the unique shots we wanted. There were some pictures that I later went through and thought, "awe man I really wanted a picture of ____ and i didn't get it. Your mind is going 100 miles a hour that day that you forget the little things like that. Jenn Hindman is my recommended photographer. She's great with lighting. Being the home grown country girl that she is, she's awesome  with outdoor shots, and is very creative.

FOOD. Satisfy your guests. Lets be honest no one cares if they have to go up buffet style to choose what they want to eat! In my opinion there is nothing worse than sitting at your table waiting for waters/waitresses to serve every single person, and when you get your food its cold. Hickory Park delivers 100% every time. Cheaper than almost every catering option, quick, they set up, they tear down, they put leftovers in a container for you to keep. Everyone is served in 90 mins, if not even quicker than that!

DJ/Entertainment. Thats where the party either continues or fizzles out real quick! Spend the money for a good one that fits your style of wedding. Highly recommend Complete Music out of Des Moines. They have a complete login reception manager you fill out. You get the dances you want, you choose the tone of the party, you can have a no play list, they pick the best DJ from their company to best suit your traditional-club style reception.
